Hi, my batteries ran out on the camera while copying to the PC. On restart of the camera I got a message that the card was not initialised, so formatted it. I have seen many posts saying tha Fuji format renders all the data on a SmartMedia card useless, however I am using a 1GB microdrive. Given that it takes 2-3 secs to save a picture (each is 2.2MB) and it only took 2 secs to do the format, it would seem to me that the data has to be still there. I ran the demo version of Davory and it found all the files but I have no way of knowing whether or not the pics are still recoverable. What do you think ? |

Try "File Recovery by Type". The files will but saved in the output folder, but cut at 200,000 bytes. An image viewing software such as ACDSee should display the upper third or quarter of these files. If so, they are probably recoverable, except for those that happen to be stored in a fragmented way. |
