Hi,

Does winhex as already or expect to have support for XFS file system?
I start to see more raid 5 arrays with XFS.

Thanks.

We don't currently support XFS. If you want to analyze it forensically, mount it in Linux and connect it as a network drive to Windows, then you can analyize it using WinHex/X-Ways Forensics.

Supporting XFS would require a lot of code, so if you want this to be added, you can vote for it here, but please don't be disappointed if it won't happen.

Sure it would be great if winhex would support it as now we see a lot of raid arrays from boxes like Lacie using XFS file system.

Thanks anyway.

I can confirm this as I just have a Buffalo Teratec NAS server to investigate.

Adding my vote to please support XFS. Just had to tackle a corrupted USB external drive formatted by a Buffalo LinkStation NAS. It seems many of these NAS drives rely on XFS.

The files were all recovered using a free app called TestDisk. Great open source program for cross platform data recovery.

Add me to this feature request as well please.
there are too many drives using xfs to still ignore xfs.
using a network drive to analyze xfs drives cannot be a solution.

You can find ordering prices here:
http://www.x-ways.net/order.html
If you order, you will receive download instructions by email, and a dongle required to run the software will be sent by conventional mail.
