I have a .mdb file (access) and when I want to print this file I chose "print to a file" option. But I can't see the file because the extension is "MIP drive". May I recover this file .mdb with winhex professional license? How can I do? Patricia |

I don't know. I see no need to recover the .mdb file if it has not been deleted or otherwise lost (and apparently it can still be opened as it can be printed). |

The trouble is that i can't open it with access, because this application don't recognize the extention: MIP Drive. The trouble is that when i chose de option "Print to a file" this file is created like as image, whith the MIP drive extention, so i can't open with access and can't recover, too. If you can tell me how can i do to recover it with using winhex or without winhex. Best regards Patricia |

You use past tense when referring to printing the file, but you can't have overwritten it by printing it, because the file extension is different. If you deleted the .MDB file, open the disk containing the file, then navigate to its folder. There, you should find the .MDB file. Select "Recovery/Copy" from the file's context menu. If that doesn't work, you can run "tools|Disk tools|File recovery by type", select file type "MS Access (.mdb)" (beginning of second page in the list) to scan the disk for the file. I'm sorry, I don't know about a "MIP Drive" file type, and I can't tell you how to access or to open it, much less how to recover data from it. |

I've seen the MIP type appear on files that have no extension. Maybe I misunderstand, but does the file actually have an MDB extension? If not, add that extension and see what happens. |

I guess, you did installed the Mount Image Pro tool to mount the dd, or expert witness disk images, and then onwards, the file extensions in Windows might have been selected as "MIP drive". Can anyone with Mount Image Pro, confirm the same. The above is purely on my Personal experience. Thanks Nitin Kushwaha India |

Mount Image Pro does not associate itself with an MIP extension or MIP drive. Image files mounted with MIP typically have extensions, e.g., E01 and 001. Windows sees such files as 001 or E0n files. I've used MIP for quite a while, and haven't seen any target images become "MIP drives" in Windows. |
