I have a picture that will not open on my computer. I can see it in the digital camera but when i try to open it on my computer it says that the file is corrupted or the file type is unrecognizable.
How would winhex help me, because i find it kind of confusing

WinHex would help you only if you knew already what exactly is wrong with the file and you had a thorough understanding of the file format.

Hi,
could it be that your camera saves raw images - means: not in jpg format! If yes, you could try to download these files which often have no ending and try to "change" it to a jpg. As I have no such camera, I don`t know which programs support such a change.
Oh, I just opened Irfan View (Freeware) and saw that it supports DCR /DNG which seem to be RAW formats. You should try this.

Sometimes my camera does this, its because the switch was stuck in the middle of recording and taking a picture, but it still took the picture. Its still a jpg file so i dont know what else i could do to fix it. I also have no idea how winhex works so im kinda confused about how to use it

One should take into account that the camera is broken.
I can just offer to determine the file format or what's wrong with it form the first 512 Bytes of that file.

Hi,
if you have no experience in handling WinHex I think it is better if you try to use simpler tools, e.g. "smart recovery" or "file recovery", just google for it, they have an english speaking website. I cannot send you the link as it is not allowed in this forum.
