The details panel is docked if the main window is maximized. Otherwise it is not possible to dock it.

I was going to ask the exact same question. Is the response above still true for WinHex 12.6? I wonder because when I first installed and ran WinHex 12.6, the details panel was docked, even when the window was not maximized.

This was true at least the first time WinHex was run after installation. Then, the details panel became undocked quite on its own.
