Is it possible to have a single excel file output in X-Ways Trace for multiple index.dat files found in a system? Sometimes there can be 20 - 30 index.dat files in a single pc and having an excel file for each of them increases the investigation time. If this is not possible, perhaps this can be added to the software in the future. | ||

No, that's not possible, but if you want work thoroughly I would recommend anyway against analyzing the individual existing index.dat files only and instead scan the entire hard disk, so that even records in free space and slack space are found (there is usually a lot to be found if IE was used extensively), and then you get 1 window and 1 export file. |
