It would be very handy to be able to view the contents of Zip archives from within WinHex, and have an option to recover files by type, when the files are in an archive. Thanks for the help and the superb application! |

> view the contents of Zip archives from within WinHex Possibly meanwhile since v11.7. > option to recover files by type, when the files are in an archive The "File Recovery by Type" function in WinHex would not be appropriate. In order recover files of a certain type, one could create a contents table, include the contents of archives, sort by extension, select files of a certain type, and recover/extract/copy them with the context menu. |

Thanks, Stefan, that certainly makes sense. Creating a contents table would likely be as easy as any other approach. In my initial suggestion, it probably would have been more apprropriate to suggest a recovery by name instead of by type. |

As of v12.0 SR-3, the directory browser can explore a second level of archives (archives inside archives). |
