Did I do something wrong. Why did WinHex convert my recovery by type files into .bmp files. How do I convert the .bmp to jpg files. Thanks.

BTW - this is a great tool

WinHex certainly does not convert file types while recovering file types. Are you sure it's not just the extension that is wrong? The recovered files may have been misnamed if the file type signatures definition file has been tampered with or (in older versions) if the user-supplied filename pattern in the dialog window is wrong.

I am using WinHex 11.15. I did not change the definition type. After the recovery there were one jpg file and all were saved as bmp with 977kb

Saved as bitmap files (file format) or saved as .bmp files (filename extension)? Maybe you simply selected both JPEG and BMP for recovery, and there were one JPEG file and lots of BMP files on the disk? At any rate, you will be able to find out exactly what happened by

1) looking at the header signature of the recovered files
2) examining the log file in the output folder
3) manually looking up the data file on the disk at some of the offsets mentioned in the log file

BTW, I cannot find your name in our customer database.
