Hi, I seem to remember some features in WinHex that I can't find in current version (12.7). Am I mistaken or have names changed? The first "lost" feature is related comparison of two binary files. I think it was possible to compare an already opened file with another one and be pointed to the differences immediately. Yes, I know the synchronization feature under "View", but I thought it was simpler some time ago. If this feature is not available, maybe it could be considered as a future enhancement (I think all necessary subroutines should already exist - "just" a combination of File compare and Synchronize view :-)). The second feature that might have existed is a directory called "Deleted files" or similar which could be found in the directory browser. Or do I mix up this with a file recovery program? I think it was in WinHex. Best regards Ulf |

1) View | Synchronize & Compare 2) Tools | File Tools | Compare No change there. -- The fictitious directory "Deleted files" has been replaced with "Path unknown" in the meantime. Available only if WinHex has actually found orphaned files (i.e. deleted files whose path/directory is unknown). Old versions of WinHex are available to registered users on request (simply send e-mail). |
