Hi Using WinHex, I have accessed 'Edit Mode' and changed the mode from read-only to the default profile (which I think means it's makes the changes but doesn't actually write the changes until you save). However, the assembled RAID system (that concists of two images) that I am trying to alter still says 'read-only mode' at the bottom right. What am I doing wrong? Ted |

Internally reconstructed RAIDs can generally be accessed in read-only mode only. Read methods have been implemented that know the stripe and parity patterns, but no such write methods have been implemented. If you would like to edit the data in a certain sector, look at the Details Panel. It will tell you the number of the component disk [image] that the sector on the screen is actually stored on, and the respective number that this sector has on that component disk [image]. You could edit the sector of that component disk [image] directly. |
