Let's say I want to change hi and low nibbles in one byte. I select 2 bytes: 05 51 rotation 0a//ok 45//rotated 2 bits! 14//ok 15//rotated 4 bits and actually swapped nibbles already! 28//ok 54//rotated 6 bits! 50//ok - swapped nibbles 51//rotated 8 bits already! So, I hope, you see my issue. When I select only 45, it gets rotated in a right way... |

The documentation says about the rotation operation: bits rotated left in a circular pattern (first byte rotated by 1 bit, second byte by 2 bits, and so on). And this is exactly what happens. Rotating all bits of a byte by 8 is the byte unchanged. Rotation alone is not suitable to swap nibbles. This feature is currently not available with WinHex. |

Certainly not classified. From the built-in help system goto Menu Reference. From there to Edit Menu and so on. |
