When I attempt to access a 5.25/1.2MB floppy with Hex Editor I get an error message "Error #10" ... do you know what this is and can I get around it to try to access the disk to attempt to save an important file?

"Error #10" means access error. What exactly could not be accessed should have been mentioned in the full error message.

Did you try both logical and physical access?

If you choose to disclose what file exactly could not be loaded, I might know.

I couldn't load WinHex itself. Not a file.

I need the complete error message. The exact unabridged wording, not paraphrased, not quoted partially.

Not sure why you didn't say so in the first place or at latest when I asked what file exactly. Apparently you have moved the winhex.exe file to your desktop and tried to execute it from there. You may have wanted to place only a shortcut to the winhex.exe file on your desktop. The winhex.exe file and all the other files like language.dat need to be located all in the same folder, or else the program obviously won't work. If you don't know how to move the winhex.exe file back to the installation folder, simply delete it on your desktop and re-install WinHex with the setup program.
