I have two same disc WD 40GB. One is free one other one is with 2 partitions (20GBprimar partition 20GBLogic). I use Symantec Ghost and clone Free disc to data disc Is possible restore partions and data inside? Tom |

Data that was overwritten cannot be recovered, unfortunately. |

Ghost uses SmartSector technology when copying one drive to another i.e. it only copies sectors that have been used. This is why it only took a few seconds to do it. But what you have done is overwrite the FAT or MFT on the destination drive with those of the source drive - the information originally there has been effectively wiped. You should be able to recover files on the data disk by opening it as a physical drive an using the File Recovery by Type option. |

You should also be able to see the directory structure and files on the second partition. Open the disk as a physical disk and use the option to Scan For Lost Partitions under Disk Tools. |
