I must clone a working booting compact flash to another one. The two fisical media are identical in size(256 MB) and model (SanDisk). I have opened the source CF as fisical drive and I have tried with the cloning utility as well as with the backup-restore method. When I try to boot with the cloned CF I always get the same message at boot-up: "Missing operating system". WinCE uses a Boot Loader to upload an Image file in the RAM. The two CF (source and cloned) seem identical. Can you help me? Thank you in advance. Luca Pretti |

I have exactly the same problem, and the same symptoms. (In my case, the source disk is a different size and make, but I don't think that should matter, should it? The source disk is 128 MB, and the destination disk is 512 MB. If it will only work to a 128 MByte card, I'll get one of those.) This function is the whole reason I purchased this program, so I would really appreciate some help on this. |

If the contents of all sectors are identical on source and destination card, there is nothing more WinHex could possibly do. We don't have specifications on what renders Windows CE on a compact flash card bootable. |
