You can do this only if you execute WinHex on that other computer or if you can attach the disk to wipe to the computer where you execute WinHex. "Borrado irreversible" is to securely erase files. In order to wipe a disk, open that disk (Herramientas | Abrir Disco) and use Edicíon | Rellenar Sectores de Disco. |

Thanks Stefan. Sorry about my english Can I connect both machines with a cross over cable, for example? Then from the mobile machin execute "Borrado irreversible" on the hard disk from the another pc because I can not attach the disk. Once this action is done, may I format the disk in order to install another operative sistem? Thanks again Stefan. Patricia |

> Can I connect both machines with a cross over cable, for example? Does not help, unfortunately. The hard disk must be locally attached. > Once this action is done, may I format the disk in order > to install another operative sistem? You first partition it, and then format it, yes. |

Stefan another question. If the hard disk is attached locally, may I erase the entirely disk or I may erase file by file. I ask you this because I tried to erase files with "Borrado Irreversible" but I can't erase folders, only within the folder I can erase file by file. Can you explain how can I do this? Thanks Patricia |

> may I erase the entirely disk or I may erase file by file Both. The first will inevitably fail to complete, however, if it's the hard disk that holds the active Windows installation from which you run the program. You could also erase an entire partition only, or erase free space only (the latter being helpful in particular if you first delete all files in the conventional way). > I can't erase folders, only within the folder I can erase file by file That's a limitation, true. |
