Hello All! Absolute and total newbie here. I am using X-Ways Forensics in order to pursue my "after government life" career in computer forensics as a PI. With respect to the Replica software, I have built a boot disk per the instructions I have found on this forum in order to run Replica v.2.36 from a floppy. I kept it very simple and do not receive any errors while loading DOS, aspi and the DI1000DD drivers. I followed the switches as specified in the license doc that accompanied my purchase.

When I run Replica it does not report any specific drive letters, only that it has found the target drive of 140GB and the attached USB drive of 250GB. The menu asks me to select the source as 0 (image file), drive 1 of 140GB or drive 2 of 250GB. When I press 1 to select the 140GB drive the curser jumps to the 1st position of the line and then the program freezes up solid. I have spent numerous hours reading the forums and researching how the boot disk is put together and I cannot resolve my problem.

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, nor am I the dullest, as I have seven years of experience in computer search and evidence recovery using other law enforcement and forensic software that didn't require such a hands on need to acquire images.

Please be kind and don't flame me too hard if I am simply being blind and missing something that I just don't know yet. I am on the X-Ways Forensics learning curve and climbing as quickly as I can however there is lots to learn!

Thanks and Cheers!

Mike

Sorry, I don't know why it freezes. It never did that for me. X-Ways Replica is not maintained any more. Sorry that we are unable to fix this.
