Does anyone know of an SAS controller that will allow copying of a single SAS drive without having to initialise? We have several controllers all of which need to initialise a SAS drive in order to see it in winhex. |

I use LSI logic SAS3041. It comes in 64-bit PCI-X and 4x PCIe slots. It says it's a RAID card, but it will pass through JBODs. |

So you do not need to initialise? Will it keep the data intact? |

No, never initialize anything you want to preserve and it will keep the data intact. The key is to look for a card that supports JBODs and the one I listed works for me. |
